The concert was amazing, probably because they were in the first row. The interaction was amazing: Brian was goofy, AJ was trying to pick up all the petite dark-haired girls he could find, Howie was winking away and Nick… Nick was too busy singing and performing for anything else. Which was a damn shame really.
“It was amazing.” Em said as soon as they’d exited the venue.
“Yup, probably my best one to date.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. So what now?”
“Well, now we stalk of course. I wonder if they’re gonna go straight to their rooms or hang out downstairs.”
“A lot of fans are staying in the hotel so they’re probably gonna go to another casino.”
“Oh,” Em blinked, “You’re right. That makes more sense.”
Sue suddenly wondered if she should have said that. Nick’d called her earlier to tell her of his plans for the evening. She was supposed to meet him at Wynn. “Do you need to get changed?”
“Uh. I wasn’t going to.” Em looked down at what she was wearing. “Why?”
“I thought you’d want to change your shoes or something.”
“Right.” Em looked at her as if she’d gone nuts. “Can do, I guess.”
“Cool. I’ll wait for you here then.”
“Right.” Em repeated as she changed directions and veered towards the bank of elevators. “See you soon then.”
“Sure.” Sue grinned back, hoping she hadn’t been too curt.

“You won’t believe what happened!” Sue was nearly bouncing in place.
Em stopped in front of her friend, new shoes on her feet and questions filling her head. “What?”
“I spotted Marcus and asked him where the Boys were doing and he said they’ve gone to Wynn!”
“He told you all that?”
“Yeah!”
“And you believe him?”
That stopped Sue. “Well, of course. He’s been very nice over the past few weeks so…”
“Oh, okay. So how do we get there?”
“We could walk?”
Em looked down at the boots she’d changed into and shook her head. “I don’t think so.”
“Taxi?”
“Much better!”
They went in search of the closest exit.

“So, did Marcus say what they were planning on doing?” Em was looking through the car window at the display of lights and people but her mind was on one thing only. Stalking!
“Not really, just that they were hoping no one would be looking for them there.”
Em’s head jerked up, “Weren’t you the one who told me yesterday about them needing their privacy? So why are we going there?”
“Oh. Well, Marcus said it was fine so I thought, you know-“
“No, I don’t know” Emma was seriously wondering what was wrong with her friend.
Sue felt herself fidget under Emma’s stare. “Okay, okay, he said AJ was asking about us so I thought that’d make you happy.”
Em’s mouth opened then shut. “Say what?”
“AJ wants to meet us.”
“Why?”
“Dunno. But isn’t it exciting? You’ll be able to do the Dare!”
“Ummm. No I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s their private time! We can’t invade their private time.”
“But we’ve been told it’s ok.”
“Tell me the truth, otherwise we are going back.”
“What do you mean?”
“Tell me what is going on or I’ll ask the taxi driver to take us back to our hotel.”
“Nothing’s going on.” Em leaned forward and instructed the driver to take them back to the hotel. “Em, don’t be so stupid.”
“Me stupid? I wasn’t born yesterday. I know something is going on. You have been behaving strangely since we met up yesterday.”
“I don’t know what you mean!”
“Don’t make me laugh. And who the hell do you keep texting?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’ve had your phone glued to your hand since yesterday. I think the only time I saw you put it away was during the concert tonight. So who have you been texting all the time?”
Sue sighed, “Someone.”
“The same ‘someone’ as yesterday?” Sue nodded, “so who is this mystery person?”
“I can’t tell you.” She whispered.
“You can’t tell me?” Sue shook her head. “Can’t or won’t?”
“Can’t”
”Why not?”
“Because I promised…” She paused, catching herself before she said his name, “I promised ‘someone’ that I wouldn’t.” She paused again. “I’m sorry. Forgive me?”
“I just wish you wouldn’t lie to me.”
“I know and I’m sorry, but you are going to find out all about it tomorrow anyway.”
“If I’m going to find out about it tomorrow, then why can’t I find out about it tonight?”
“Because.”
“So helpful Sunny.”
“Sorry.”
