Me Too!

"So you really do like Starbucks then."
"Pardon?"
"Sorry, just thinking out loud." Em took a sip of her coffee and sighed. This was heaven! "So, do you want to get this party planned then?” AJ nodded. "OK, where shall we hold it?"
"Nick likes to hang out at the Key Club."
"Ok, can I get you to phone them and book a night next week? I'm going home on Friday, so before then would be helpful."
He started tapping away on his BlackBerry. "Done," he said, "What next?"
Em looked at him dumbstruck, "Who did you just text?"
"The owner of the club, why? They'll get back to me and let me know what day."
"Ok.” She paused. "So, next we need caterers, entertainment."
"Don’t worry about it. They'll sort it all for us."
"Really?"
"Yeah, you don't need to worry about a thing."
She blinked, "Oh, ok then."

"So, what do you want to do today?"
"Uhm. I don't know really. We need to organize a list of people coming, I suppose."
"Em, you're not listening. All sorted."
"We don't have to do a thing?"
"Nope. Not until it gets confirmed anyway."
"Oh. In that case, can we try and talk Kevin round?"
"I don't think so."
"Why not?"
"Because Nick will never forgive us for interfering."
"But Sue would hate thinking that she has caused such a big argument between them."
AJ sighed, "Fine, I'll give him a ring and see if he's available."
"No, let's go round there and surprise him. That way he can't say no to talking to us."

AJ sighed again, "All right, but if it doesn't work then it’ll be on your head!"
Em did a giddy clap. "Thanks AJ; I was so close to talking him around last night, I know I will do it."
"Fine, drink up and we'll go. What are you drinking anyway?"
"It’s a Frappucino". She watched, horrified, as he picked her cup up and tasted it.  "AJ!  What did I say before about how disgusting that is? All that spit?"
With a glint in his eye, he leaned over to her and gave her a peck on the lips. "See? No saliva."
She shook her head. "I so can't believe you did that."

"So, have you told Em what happened yet?"
Sue shook her head. "No, I almost did this morning, but AJ came in just as I was about to." She sighed, "She's suspicious though."
"Are you really surprised she's suspicious? She’s your best friend and you didn't tell her you were emailing me?"
"I told you that story wouldn't work! But you didn't believe me, did you?"
Nick sighed, "I suppose not, I guess I wasn't thinking straight."
"You weren't thinking straight? You aren't the one who woke up with the hangover from hell, suddenly married to her biggest idol. You at least remember everything that happened!"

They arrived at Kevin’s house a short time later, Emma bouncing on her seat to be allowed a glimpse into his life. She’ll finally be able to see what the guy did all day long, hidden away in his cave!
“You’re beginning to scare me,” AJ announced as he watched her jump down from his car.
“Whatever,” she beamed back at him.
“No, really. You’re way too happy about this. Don’t you see we’re gonna get into another fight here?”
“Nah, I won’t let it go that far.”
“So you say but you don’t know him, babe.” AJ frowned at the front door, clearly wishing he was somewhere else.
“Maybe I don’t know him that way but I do know how his mind works.” She brushed past him and rang the doorbell, ignoring his wince.
“Uh?” AJ was trying to make her words compute but the door opened before he could ask her to explain herself.

“The happy couple is back,” Kevin said as he glared at them. “What are you doing here?”
“You said we would talk more in the morning so tada!” Emma waved then what he said hit her. “And we’re not a couple, damn it!”
“I never said we’d talk more. You did.” Kevin pointed out.
AJ was shaking his head. “We’re not? But you weren’t averse to my kiss earlier, were you?”
“Alex!” She hissed through clenched teeth. “What did I say last night about not antagonizing him?”
“He’s just being himself,” Kevin sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the open door. “What can I do for you?”
“Why don’t we go in and talk?” Emma suggested.
“Nope, we can talk right here. It won’t take long anyway.”
“Really? Are you hiding something?”
Kevin’s infamous eyebrows snapped together. “Why would I be hiding anything?”
“I don’t know. Why wouldn’t you let us in when you’re supposed to be a Southern gentleman?”

AJ laughed so hard he started hiccupping. “This is priceless. Thanks for forcing me to come here, babe.”
